Zaterdagavond 16 augustus, 2008, om 22.30 uur,
vond de 2e uitvoering plaats van de
2nd symphony 'Celebration' opus 140
door:
Banda Sinfónica de la S.M. "La Artistica" uit Bunol o.l.v. Henrie Adams,
in het Amfitheater te Bunol, ofwel: het Auditorio de San Luis.
(Bunol is een plaatsje in de buurt van Valencia)
-Na de pauze trad het andere harmonie-orkest 'l 'Harmonica' uit Bunol op.

Het is een evenement wat in die streek veel aandacht kreeg, de dirigent werd in de week voorafgaand aan het concert meerdere keren geïnterviewd door radio en televisie, en het concert werd direct opgenomen en uitgezonden door de locale televisie. Bij het concert waren tegen de 3000 aanwezigen.

Voor het concert in Bunol werd veel propaganda gemaakt op radio en televisie. Hieronder de link naar een YouTube-filmpje van een nieuws-samenvatting op de Spaanse televisie, waarbij ook mijn naam wordt genoemd.

Daags voor het concert was er een grote openingsmanifestatie van het 'tomatenfestival'.
Iedere belangrijke sector in Bunol werd gerepresenteerd door een schone jonkvrouw, een soort 'mascotte'....
Na afloop van de openingsceremonie zagen wij de mascotte van het orkest.

Voordat het concert begon met mijn 2e symfonie was er eerst een korte toespraak in het Spaans die wij helaas niet konden verstaan.

Henrie Adams buigt voort het publiek.

Componist Marc van Delft komt naar voren om de dirigent de hand te schudden en het orkest te bedanken voor de prachtige uitvoering van zijn 2e symfonie.

Tijdens de pauze vond er een kort interview plaats met de radio, dat vertaald werd door Astrid Krone...

Het concertprogramma met de stukken die na de pauze weerklonken, o.a. het geweldige werk 'Apocalypse' van Bougeois.

Na afloop van het concert bij het clubhuis van het orkest. Daar trof ik de orkestleden aan in een uitgelaten feeststemming. De euphorie o.i.v. de overvloedige champagne en het zojuist behaalde succes leidde tot vrolijke en uitgelaten taferelen.
After the concert, we went to the society building of the orchestra. Here, the members of the orchestra were ecstatic because of the champagne and the great success!

De volgende dag was er een 'afterparty' in het buitenhuis in de bergen van een van de bestuursleden.

De dames waren ondertussen bezig in een primitieve keuken op een authentiek houtvuur een enorme pan paella klaar te maken!
The ladies were busy to cook paella in an enormous frying pan on a wooden fire in a primitive kitchen…

Met de hond maakte ik even een wandelingetje om het landschap in ogenschouw te nemen.

Vlak in de buurt ontvouwde zich dit uitzicht van het dal.

Het diner ging beginnen... Naar goed Spaans gebruik zaten de mannen bij elkaar om over 'mannenzaken' te kunnen praten....

Toen werd de gigantische paellapan op tafel gezet...

Na het diner maakte wij onder leiding van Henrie Adams een wandeling naar de 'duivengrot'....

De volgende dag, de fraaie stad Valencia.

In het vliegtuig had ik met een Valenciaan gesproken en hem gevraagd wat voor bezienswaardigheden er in de buurt van Valencia waren. Hij had het klooster van Puig genoemd en de vesting van Sagunto. Onderweg naar Sagunt het klooster van Puig liggen.
In the airplane, I had asked a Valencian, what sights there were near Valencia. He mentioned the monastery of Puig and the Romam amphytheatre of Sagunto. On our way to Sagunto, we saw the monastary of Puig.

Ik had dit keer het geluk aan het raam te kunnen zitten waardoor ik nog fraaie foto's van het landschap vanuit het vliegtuigraam kon nemen. Een beeld van het dorre Spaanse landschap...
This time a was lucky and I could sit at the window, so I could make nice pictures: The dry Spanish landscape...

Ik neem aan dat we over de Pyreneeën vlogen en we de bergtoppen boven het wolkendek uit zagen komen.
