De 3 stukken uit 2008 werden gespeeld op de 50e verjaardag van Marc van Delft voor de 48e verjaardag van Ria Alsemgeest door Marc van Delft-piano en Elisabeth Wiklander-cello.
Deze 3 stukken werden geschreven voor Ria, nr. 1 en 3 speciaal voor haar verjaardag, die werd gevierd op dezelfde avond als Marc's 50e verjaardag, op 4-4-08, in Den Haag in de zaal van stichting 'Aardewerk' in Den Haag.
Marc heeft 'Prelude for Senta' en 'Senta's Elegy' voor Ria's verjaardag geschreven omdat zij zo van cello houdt.
 Senta is een bijnaam voor Ria Alsemgeest (het duidt haar opofferende karakter aan van Venus in Vissen)...
1/ Is zeer intieme, lyrische muziek.
2/ & 3/ Deze stukken hebben een melancholisch karakter omdat Ria erg houdt van de slavische melancholie van Pärt en Gorecky.
These 3 pieces were played at the 50th birthday of Marc van Delft for the 48th birthday of Ria Alsemgeest by Marc van Delft-piano and Elisabeth Wiklander-cello.
These pieces were written for Ria, nr. 1 & 3 for her birthday, which was celebrated on the same evening as Marc’s 50th birthday at 4-4-08 at ‘Aardewerk’ in The Hague (The Netherlands).
Marc has written for Ria’s birthday: ‘Prelude for Senta’ & ‘Senta’s Elegy’, because Ria is fond of cello.
Senta is a nickname for Ria. (it has to do with her altruistic character: Venus in Pisces)
1/ This piece is very intimate lyrical music.
2/ & 3/ These pieces have a very melancholic character because Ria is fond of the Slavonic melancholy of Pärt and Gorecky.

Het Intermezzo werd op 9 april 2011 uitgevoerd in Stichting Aardewerk door Marc van Delft & Ephraim van IJzerlooij (cello) ter ere van de verjaardag van Ria.
The Intermezzo was performed on April the 9th 2011 in the Aardewerk Foundation by Marc van Delft & Ephraim van IJzerlooij (cello) in honor of Ria's birthday.

Voor deze gelegenheid had Marc zijn pianoleerlingen, vrienden en bekenden gevraagd om iets te spelen.
For this occasion, Marc had asked his friends, pupils and acquaintances to play something.

De pianoleerlingen Joan Denelle, Niels Zeven en Debby speelden op de vleugel. 
Marc’s moeder reciteerde een eigen gedicht, Freya’s  dochter speelde lier, Imke Jelle van Dam speelde uit eigen werk, componist Simon Burgers wilde 2 kleine verhaaltjes / overdenkingen / columns voorlezen, Robert Rook improviseerde jazzmuziek, en Marc van Delft & Ephraim van IJzerlooij speelden werken van Marc van Delft voor piano en cello.

Piano students of Marc: Joan Denelle, Niels Zeven and Debby played on the grand piano. 
Marc's mother recited a poem of her own, Freya's daughter played on her lyre, Imke Jelle van Dam played music from his own, composer Simon Burgers wanted to recite two little stories / thoughts / columns, Robert Rook improvised jazz music, and Marc van Delft and Ephraim IJzerlooij played works by Marc van Delft for piano and cello.

Senta's Elegy op youtube en Elisabeth Wiklander
De celliste wilde dat ik het Youtube-filmpje van Senta's Elegy zou verwijderen.
Ze was bang dat het schadelijk zou zijn voorhaar cello-carrière, wat niet het geval is, denk ik, want ondertussen speelt ze anno 2018 in een van de beste orkesten ter wereld, het London Philharmonic Orchestra....
The cello player wanted that I would remove the film of Senta's Elegy.
Aangezien ik toentertijd niet wist hoe dat moest en youtube onbereikbaar is, is dat nooit gelukt...
Because I did't know how to do it, and youtube could not be reached, it still is on youtube...
Erg jammer, want blijkbaar is het een youtube-topper, er is anno maandag 24 september 2012 maar liefst 1146 x naar gekeken, het is een keer gemarkeerd als 'leuk', en er stonden nog een paar enthousiaste reacties op!*

* Dit schreef ik in 2012 in de hoop dat ik het filmpje kon verwijderen....
